Seven artists who are past or current members of the Mount Pleasant Artists Guild are among those who have works on display at Town Hall for a four-month period beginning on August 22. Guild artists whose work will appear in the exhibit are Susan Bryant, Fer Caggiano, Vanessa Grebe, Dave Harrison, Barbara Smith, Don Sturdivant and Gloria Union Smith. Mount Pleasant Artists Guild members have the benefit of learning about local exhibit opportunities, such as the Town Hall Art program, to exhibit their work, and there is time at each monthly meeting to share calls for submission. For an application to exhibit in a future Town Hall Art rotation the application can be found here. The contest is open to those who reside or work in the Town of Mount Pleasant, and the contest excludes employees of the Town of Mount Pleasant and those who serve on any commission of the Town of Mount Pleasant.
The Town Hall Art exhibit is sponsored by the Town of Mount Pleasant, the Office of the Mayor and the Culture, Arts & Pride Commission. This exhibit highlights the talents of local residents and promotes the beauty and unique qualities of our area. The application to submit artwork for consideration states: “The objective of this program is to promote an awareness of local artists, encourage interaction within the artist community, and to foster community pride.” The Mayor and the Culture, Arts & Pride Commission sponsor an opening reception to celebrate the reveal of the exhibition. The Town Hall Art exhibit is open to submissions three times each year. The contest is open to those who reside or work in the Town of Mount Pleasant, and the contest excludes employees of the Town of Mount Pleasant and those who serve on any commission of the Town of Mount Pleasant. The art works selected for the September-December 2019 rotation will be on display beginning on August 22 at Mount Pleasant Town Hall, located at 100 Ann Edwards Lane, Mount Pleasant.
The Guild congratulates all artists selected for the Town Hall Art Exhibit! The Mayor’s Music & Art Reception will be held on Thursday, April 22 at Town Hall from 4:00 until 5:00 PM and is open to the public.
